We are situated in Lower Wensleydale and are ideally placed for visiting so much of what the Dales and North Yorkshire has to offer. We are in a quiet countryside location, surrounded by fields and woodland, yet we are within 10 minutes of the A1, nestled between the market towns of Bedale, Leyburn and Richmond.

Please note, that the A1 has undergone a major scheme of improvement and some Satellite Navigation systems have not recognised the new road layout. If you are coming from the South, we would suggest that you leave at junction 51 and follow the signs to Bedale and Leyburn, this will take you round the new Bedale by-pass. On the final roundabout turn right towards Leyburn (Bedale will be to your left). Just through the village of Patrick Brompton turn right at the cross roads (signposted to Hunton, Hauxwell, Catterick and a brown tourist sign to Elmfield House!). We are about 1.5 miles down this road on the right.

From the North, we suggest you leave at junction 52. At the top of the slip road there is a roundabout, go straight on, signposted Catterick and Marne Barracks. Take the first right over the A1 (signposted Tunstall and Hackforth). At the end of the road turn left, (signposted Hackforth). Continue along the road for a couple of miles and just before entering the village of Hackforth turn right. This is a pretty road and will take you through a deer park, past a castle and through the village of Hornby. At the end of the road turn left (signposted Patrick Brompton). The lane down to Elmfield House is a quarter of a mile on your left.

Once on the lane to Elmfield House, take the right hand fork for the Bed & Breakfast and the left hand fork for Elmfield Lodge. Our carpark is the gravelled area opposite the large conservatory.
