Dedicated guest accommodation in our B&B and cottage
Elmfield House (our four-bedroomed bed and breakfast) and Elmfield Lodge (our holiday cottage) both enjoy a rural setting. As you enter our sunny conservatory entrance you will become aware of two things very quickly. The first is just how peaceful this location is and, secondly, how much space is dedicated exclusively for use by our guests. We are nestled between the market towns of Richmond, Leyburn and Bedale. The outlook to the North is over a pony paddock and the hills as they rise from Wensleydale into Swaledale. To the South it is over fields and the wide expanse of Lower Wensleydale and depending on conditions you can see the tower of Aysgarth school and Penn Hill. We attract a wonderful array of wildlife including wild ducks, geese, herons, kingfishers, pheasants, owls, kestrels, woodpeckers, deer, hedgehogs and foxes to name just a few. Our bedrooms are generously sized with en-suite facilities and the comfortable beds and our quiet surroundings are ideal ingredients for a good night's sleep. You can choose from king-size, super king-size, four poster or twin beds and we can add additional beds / cots to rooms for younger family members. Elmfield Lodge (our four-star self-catering cottage) is a real haven to relax in. It is hidden in the grounds of Elmfield House and enjoys a separate private entrance. We are an ideal location for peaceful breaks in the Dales, or for business travellers to the area, given our proximity to the A1. We can cater for larger groups celebrating family get-togethers and often welcome family groups for birthdays or passing out parades at Catterick.

Early summer and the peonies and lilac are in full bloom. Guests are welcome to enjoy the Yorkshire sunshine in the garden. Bring a bottle, we will put it in the fridge to chill during the day, and put your feet up.

Guests regularly enjoy drinks on the patio throughout the year.
Come spring time, and our flock of rare breed Wensleydale sheep have their lambs. They can be seen skipping in the fields at the front of the house.
It makes the conservatory a cosy place to be, even on the freshest of mornings, and gives it a real sense of atmosphere on an evening.
We have 14 acres of woodland, a lake and fields which guests are welcome to explore!
In spring the woodland floor is carpeted with wild flowers. Here is one spot which had a fabulous display of bluebells and cowslips. An extra reason to visit in May!
