Those of you who have stayed at Elmfield House in the last year will have met Emma Blackmore who will have cheerily served your breakfast and done so much to make your stay comfortable and enjoyable.

This summer Astra and Ian retire from the business and Emma will take over. Emma has worked in hospitality and customer service all her working life and has plenty of experience to draw on in making your stay a real pleasure. Astra and Ian are delighted to see her make a start in running a business to which she is so well suited.

It promises to be an exciting change as, in addition to the outstanding accommodation and delicious Yorkshire breakfasts already enjoyed by guests, Emma will be offering evening meals 6 nights a week.

Evening meals will still be home cooked and freshly prepared using ingredients sourced as locally as possible. Her dad, John, is a keen gardener and is hoping to keep the kitchen supplied during this summer. Emma’s mum, Angela, is on board as well to help with the cooking and greeting guests when required.

Emma will also be offering an unusual option of Thai evening meals. She lived in Thailand for 7 years and learned to cook with a Thai family so her food will be truly authentic and served round one large table in traditional style. If you are interested in having a Thai meal during your stay then make sure you check with Emma if they are being served on the night you are staying. And if you would prefer not to eat Thai she will make sure an alternative is on hand if required.

So, Astra and Ian wish Emma and her family good luck and good fun with Elmfield House. Emma wishes them a happy retirement. They all look forward to guests continuing to enjoy their stays at Elmfield House in the future.
